These large flightless birds are native to the Ebon Badlands region. They are roughly three meters tall and weight approximately 150 kilograms. They have an elongated neck extending from a muscular body supported by two legs, similar to an ostrich. Their plumes are reddish orange in colour, and they tend to travel and live in packs of ten to twenty individuals. Their beaks are quite strong, capable of biting through iron, and their talons are closer to those of a dragon's than those of a bird's.

Ashstriders were once domesticated by the native keelai of the badlands, but the techniques with which this was achieved have been lost to time. These animals are feral and dangerous.
